On the 19 of September the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin visited the Russian Federal Nuclear Center.
The President met with the young scientists and specialists employed in the Center.
Vladimir Putin addressed his greetings on occasion of the Day of the Gunsmith to those present, saying: “Weapon-manufacturing business in our country has its truly deep backgrounds and the present-day Russia would not have been as it is, if it were not for the preceding generations of your colleges, who made their great impact in ensuring its sovereignty. Back in the 18-th century was had one of the best artillery ever; in the years of the Second World War it was “Katyusha”, T-34 tanks and certain other weapon systems which became the legend. As for the newest history, these are the nuclear missile programs, which are associated with the names of the highest-ranked outstanding national scientists and managers of the related production. All of the above factors formed the basis for our strategic stability, which goes on playing the key role in providing international safety and security”.
According to Vladimir Putin, the domestic nuclear defense complex develops successfully and effectively. This is owing to the fact that the nuclear and strategic constituents of the process as well as the contemporary weaponry are sustained at the worthy level. “We witnessed what you have done and what you are doing at present. All of this is really impressive and helps us building the confidence in the future of our country”, - said the leader of the country.
Vladimir Putin expressed his enthusiasm as to the fact that the percentage of the young people involved into the industry is growing: “As compared to the year 2009, when the share of younger generation was 20%, it now increased up to 30% , or 35% specifically in RFNC-VNIIEF, which is a very good tendency. The combination of the experienced specialists who had proven their effectiveness and the young men who are just starting their careers in science make a good argument to the fact that we dispose of solid human resources”.
Of no less importance for the President was the increased share of civil products, which he commented to as follows: “its present share is about 25%. This is a high-ranked and really a high-tech production. Today we are optimizing the whole nuclear-weapon complex and this is the most ambitious optimization effort among those pursued in a 20-year duration at the domestic scale. The resources being invested are really sizeable. Those are distributed between the constituent companies for their assets to be consequently optimized. And this has already given its effect as the technological backlog for the new weapon systems had been demonstrated yet”.
The leader of the nation spoke as well about the social aspects: “Last year the salaries in your branch gained another 15%; the new capabilities are being searched for as to solving the problem of housing. New housing programs are being developed, in which a person can be become a part of notwithstanding his length of service”. “To crown it all, this is the place, where working is both desirable and rewarding and this is a very good prospect. And, what is most important, your work is highly requested by out people and the country as a whole”, - said the President at the end of his speech.
Thus, the dialog with the young scientists of VNIIEF tackled the problems of high-tech developments and fundamental science; the problems of investments into the closed administrative-territorial communities; the state support to the special-purpose programs.
