“Interaction of Hydrogen Isotopes with Structural Materials – IHISM”14”
From 7 to 11 July, 2014, the V International Conference and the IX International School of the Young Scientists and Specialists named after A.M. Kurdyumov and entitled as “Interaction of Hydrogen Isotopes with Structural Materials – IHISM”14” was held. RFNC-VNIIEF acted as the primary organizer of this forum. The Conference was attended by scientists and experts from scientific-research institutions, universities and laboratories from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China and Germany. Three basic problems were discussed in the course of the Conference: kinetics and thermodynamics of interaction of hydrogen isotopes with solids; mechanical properties and structural transformations of structural materials; hydrides and their transformations; hardware and methods of study.Addressing the participants of the Conference, the scientific leader of RFNC-VNIIEF academician of RAS, the Chair of the scientific and organizing committee of the Conference Radiy Il’kayev, pointed out the importance of the hydrogen-related problems both from the scientific and practical point of view:
“It is really satisfying that the School goes on working, the conferences are being held and a lot of new scientific papers and publications are being published. You represent the frontier of this scientific trend, which is of no minor importance. I wish you have new successful achievements, interesting contacts and excellent results”.
