XIII Khariton Readings for Schoolchildren

On the 28 of February, 2013, the conference named “XIII Khariton Readings for Schoolchildren” started its activities. The conference had become one of the most noticeable events in the life of the Nuclear Center in the course of years. Over 200 schoolkids from schools, lyceums and gymnasiums of many cities and regions of Russia participated in plenary meetings, round tables, cultural and excursion programs and listened to the lectures, given by the eminent scientists. The XIII Conference was named “Utopia”. The graduates of high school competed in a special contest, presenting the results of their research efforts.
Four contests (called “Olympics” in Russia) in physics, chemistry, biology and history were included into Intra-regional Contest under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the RF named “The upcoming generation of analysts is the future of our science”. The participants and the guests of the Conference were greeted with the words of encouragement by the Director of the Institute of Nuclear and Radiation Physics, VNIIEF, Nikolay Zavialov, the Chair of Organizational Committee and the scientific leader of VNIIEF, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Radiy Il’kayev and the Head of Sarov Administration Valery Dimitrov.
The Conference closed on March 3, 2013 with a ceremony, where the winners of various Prizes and Diplomas were awarded.
