From 1 to 5 of October, 2012, the XIV International Conference “Super computing and mathematical simulations”
From 1 to 5 of October, 2012, the XIV International Conference “Super computing and mathematical simulations” was held in the Russian Federal Center, Sarov. The acute problems of theoretical and applied science, which can be solved using high-productive computations were discussed, including the following: development of ideal mathematical models, methods and algorithms for numerical simulation of the wide range of physical processes; de-paralleling of computational processes using multi-processor computers; services to support computations; development of network and information protection technologies; perspective super-computer architectures and their systematic software.
A separate session of the conference was focused on the problems of implementation of super-computers for development of science-intensive products at the leading production enterprises of this country.
The participants of the conference and the specialists of the nuclear center were greeted by VNIIEF scientific leader Rady Ilkayev, the first deputy director Vyacheslav Solovyev and the director of the Scientific Research Institute of System Examination Vladimir Betelin. V.P. Solovyev stated, that “the more and more production companies are taking part in the conference. Super-computer technologies are actively penetrating into design and engineering activities, thus optimizing both design work and instrumental processing of the new samples. The big attention to collaboration in super-computer technologies and computations is paid by nuclear weapon laboratories of Russia and USA”.
